New Postage Rates for 2022

Canada Post Announces New Postage Rates Effective January 10, 2022

Here we go with Canada Post’s postage rate changes for 2022, effective on January 10th.  With the exception of improvements to Precision Targeter (for Neighbourhood Mail) early in 2022, there are no planned service changes.  Here’s what you need to know.

Personalized Mail™

The most popular Personalized Mail category — machineable mail up to 50g with a postal indicia — is increasing by just under 2% and will now be $0.515 (51.5¢) per piece.

Postal Code Targeting™

Postage for PCT is increasing by a flat $0.013 across all categories. The rate for a standard up to 50g piece will now be $0.34 (34¢).

Neighbourhood Mail™ Prices

As mentioned, Canada Post is introducing enhancements to Precision Targeter in early 2022. Increases for pieces under 50g are 1.7% or less. For heavier items, 50g to 100g, the increases are just over 2%. The rate for a standard piece up to 50g will now be $.0173 (17.3¢).

Lettermail™

The cost of a single stamp remains unchanged at $1.07 and the postal indicia rate is also the same at $0.92. Only the postage meter rate is increasing to align with the postal indicia rate.

Incentive Lettermail™

On the other hand, Incentive Lettermail rates ae increasing by a significant 7%. As a result, the difference between regular Lettermail and Incentive Lettermail for up to 30g has practically disappeared. See the last chart below for a comparison.
